What we made
Research, Variable type, Generative poster

This project, its client and its outcome are invented for a concept by Artlogic.

The brief

No client. We wanted to find out how far a letter can stretch before it stops being itself.

The idea

Map the weather to two axes: width follows wind, slant follows direction. Twenty-six letters, five forecasts, one poster that reads at every setting.

The making

We set a legibility floor first, a test word at every combination, and only kept the range where it still reads. The poster is made from fifty such test words.

What it is

A poster and a rule: never go past the point where a reader has to guess. An experiment, nothing more.

Plates

Reel: not part of this preview.

Process reel

A short reel of the plates being made (fictional; no real client footage).
