Concept project — fictional brand

A small practice with one method.

Cadrel works on houses, cultural buildings and offices. We take few projects and draw each one ourselves.

We start from the section because it is the one drawing that cannot lie. It shows what the building is made of, how tall each room is and where the light enters.

A plan can be made to look good. A section either works or it does not.

Four rules

  1. Structure is the plan.

Walls that carry load also divide rooms. No wall is there only to be a wall.

  2. One material per room.

Concrete, timber or plaster. Not three.

  3. Light comes from one side.

Each room has a main source of daylight and the section shows where.

  4. Draw before you describe.

We send drawings in the first week and words in the second.

About this site

Cadrel is a fictional practice made as a concept by Artlogic. The projects, places, areas and figures are invented. The photographs are AI-generated images that stand in for buildings that do not exist. There are no clits, awards or commissions.
