Use cases

Three invented days, told plainly. They are scenarios, not case studies: no client, result or number here is real.

The renewal nobody diarised

Facilities manager at a fictional print works

A cleaning contract renews unless notice is given 90 days before the end of the term. The date is in clause 1, in the middle of a paragraph. With the clause marked and the date computed, the manager sets a reminder instead of finding out in the invoice.

  • Renewal clause marked as Risk
  • Notice date computed from the term
  • Vague service levels marked as Check

  • Subtotal marked against the recomputed sum
  • Missing purchase order marked as Missing
  • Changed bank details marked as Risk

Brightwater Cafés · Operations office

Our order of 3 September has still not arrived. We were promised delivery by 10 September and again by 15 September.

I need a firm delivery date by Friday. If I do not have one, we will move this month's order to another supplier and ask for the extra cost to be credited.

I would still like to stay with you. The service has been good until now.

SIMULATION:NO MODEL CONNECTED
  1. Mark 1 of 3, Missing: No order number. Look up 3 Sept.
  2. Mark 2 of 3, Risk: Deadline: Friday 18 Sept.
  3. Mark 3 of 3, Fine: Firm, not hostile. Wants to stay.

Scenarios are invented for this concept. They describe what the prepared demo shows, not results from real use.
