The Technical Side
Proper multilingual implementation requires more than running your content through DeepL. It requires: correct hreflang tag implementation (the most commonly botched part of multilingual SEO), language-aware URL structures (/en/ vs /fr/ vs subdomain vs separate domain), content translation workflows that work for editorial teams, locale-aware date, number, and currency formatting, and right-to-left support if needed.
On Drupal, we use the full multilingual stack: Language, Content Translation, Configuration Translation, and Interface Translation modules. On WordPress, we use WPML or Polylang with proper configuration. We do not use machine translation for client-facing content — we work with professional translators and build the workflow around them.
SEO Localisation
Multilingual SEO means more than translating your meta tags. Each language version needs keyword research in that language, content written for how speakers of that language search, and separate link-building consideration.
