Why we make to order, and what it costs you in time

2026-03-04 (fictional). 4 min read. By the Lemnor workshop (fictional).

Pale wood shavings curling on a workbench

A shop that holds finished tables has to guess. It guesses a length, a wood, a colour, and sells whatever matches. If it guesses wrong, the table is marked down or stays in a warehouse.

We do not guess. We cut after you confirm. That is why the lead time on a dining table is ten weeks or more in our examples, and why we tell you so on the product page instead of at the checkout.

In return, you get to change what matters. A bench 4 cm shorter to fit a bay window. A desk at 74 cm instead of 72. A top in oak and legs in ash, if you would like that.

It is not for everyone. If you need a table by Friday, we are the wrong workshop, and we would rather say so now.
