A day in the workshop, in six jobs

Morning: we choose boards for a table top, laying them out on the floor and turning them until the grain runs on across the joints.
Then we cut and join. Then, for most of the day, we shape by hand, because that is the part a machine cannot do well.
Late in the afternoon the finished pieces are oiled and left to cure overnight. Nobody is in a hurry. That is rather the point.
