Aske chair

A chair that is light enough to carry with one hand and strong enough to be stood on once, by accident.

A solid wood dining chair with a slatted back standing against a plain wall

Generated illustration, not a Lemnor piece; the tone is a preview. Right: a generated illustration of European oak.

Finishes for this piece

  • Natural oak, oiled

Pale, honey at the edges, with the grain left open. A thin hard-wax oil that you can touch up yourself.

included. Made to order, 7 to 9 weeks (example).

  • Smoked oak

Oak fumed until it turns deep brown through the board, not just at the surface. Sanding a scratch does not reveal pale wood.

+140 EUR. Made to order, 8 to 10 weeks (example).

  • Ash, white oil

Light and cool, with a bold cathedral grain. A white-pigmented oil keeps it pale instead of letting it yellow.

-60 EUR. Made to order, 7 to 9 weeks (example).

How it is made

The back is shaped from a single curved board. We steam it for forty minutes, bend it round a form and leave it to set for three days before the legs are fitted.

Looking after it

Wipe with a damp cloth. Tighten nothing: the wedged joints tighten themselves as the wood settles.

See it in a room

The dining room tags this piece. The photograph is a generated image, not a Lemnor piece.

  • Tarn dining table

Dining table. A table you can seat six at, and eight if you do not mind elbows.

  • Brae shelving

Bookshelf. Open shelving that carries a full row of books without bowing.

  • Holm bench

Bench. A bench for the end of a bed or the hall, seat 38 cm deep so you can sit and pull a shoe on.
